Here are some rough numbers:

According to this blog post, Iran has a vital online community of around 60,000 active blogs and up to 20 million people connected to the Internet. The article later states that in 2006, Iran reported over 10,000,000 blogs and websites were filtered, and Iran invested $5,000,000 to build a filtering system.

According to Wikipedia, Iran is the world’s fourth largest country of bloggers. Wikipedia lists that over 23 million people are connected to the Internet as of 2007. Wikipedia states that there are over 700,000 Iranian blogs with approximately 40,000 – 110,000 of them are active.

According to Technorati, the Persian language is among the 10 most common languages amongst bloggers.
